Case Study: Yacub Shop

Client: Yacub Shop
Location: Israel
Industry: Social Services

About the Project

Yacub Shop is a digital initiative focused on offering ethically sourced shofars crafted from Jacob Sheep, a rare and ancient breed now carefully raised in Israel. The platform aims to connect Muslim audiences with these historically significant animals through a thoughtful and reverent online experience.

We were tasked with developing a modern, accessible e-commerce platform that reflects the cultural sensitivity of the project, enables smooth product ordering, and builds an emotional bridge between users and the sacred symbolism of the sheep and their horns.

Our goals

  • Respect Cultural Context

All visuals, wording, and site flow were designed to align with the spiritual and cultural expectations of a global Muslim audience while staying true to the project's origins in Israel.

  • Enable Simple, Secure Shopping

The online store is optimized for frictionless browsing, with secure checkout, mobile responsiveness, and clear product categorization.

  • Strengthen Narrative with Design

We created a platform that balances storytelling and functionality, allowing visitors to learn about the sheep's story while browsing and shopping.

  • Offer Universal Accessibility

From keyboard navigation to color contrast, the entire UI was designed to support users with different abilities and digital experience levels.

  • Ensure Global Reach

We built infrastructure to support international shipping, multilingual support, and flexible payment methods, making the product accessible worldwide.

Steps of the Project

We divided the project into multiple milestones and phases, each carefully planned to guarantee on-time and accurate completion.

  1. Discovery & Wireframing

We conducted in-depth research into cultural nuances and competitor benchmarks. Wireframes were created to validate layout and flow early on.

  2. Visual Identity and UI Design

We developed a minimal and respectful visual identity, using traditional tones, geometric layout principles, and clear typography to support the brand's calm and spiritual tone.

  3. Development

We built a secure and lightweight online store with variant selection, donation options, and responsive design for all major devices.

  4. Optimization

Post-launch testing included performance, accessibility (WCAG), and usability across browsers, languages, and screen sizes.

Design Concept

The design centers around a clean, minimal interface that allows the story of the sheep and shofar to shine through without distraction. Soft natural tones and careful use of whitespace help guide the eye and evoke peace and reverence.

E-commerce elements were seamlessly woven into the storytelling, ensuring a unified experience from first scroll to checkout.
